Learned that Van Gogh got inspired by woodblock prints from Japan when making the “Starry Night” piece so it is fitting to make my own version of it in ukiyo-e esthetics. That is why the Great Wave and Starry Night resonates to me so much! The broken lines, swirls and repeated fast strokes is eminent in these two masterpieces.
