Tell us something about this design.
I’m a longtime fan of Iron Maiden and Star Wars. The idea to mix them up seemed pretty obvious to me so I did that. I’ve done a bunch of designs over the years but this seems to be my most popular one.
Who is and where does Mark come from?
I’m Mark! I spend all of my time in Erie, Pa. It’s starting to get cold here.
How long have you been in the t-shirt world?
Oh, I’m not sure. I think my first print was in 2012 but I was designing stuff that no one wanted for about a year before that.
What would you suggest to an aspiring t-shirt designer?
Learn to draw. Also, find a way to create one design that people like and live off that for the rest of your life while all your other designs are ignored.
What’s a day in the life of Mark like?
Not very interesting. I spend most of the day with my son, then try to get some work done after everyone else is asleep. I’m tired a lot.
Mac or PC?
PC, I guess. I still do all my drawing analog, though.

3 tv-series: Oh boy. Uh…Twilight Zone, The Prisoner and Upright Citizens Brigade?
3 movies: Tron, Godzilla and Evil Dead. I wanted to name some critically acclaimed movies to show off how cool I am, but these are probably the ones I’ll watch.
3 videogames: Doctor Mario. That’s it. Maybe Mario Kart. Wait—if I’m the only one left, I’ll never play these.
3 cds: Slayer: “Reign in Blood”, Iron Maiden: “Piece of Mind” and Danny Elfman’s Batman soundtrack.
3 books: Savage Dragon, Fantastic Four and probably something that will help me function in a post-apocalyptic world by myself.
One t-shirt: something warm!
You are the governor of the world. What’s the first thing you would do?
Make clothing optional.
You’ve just won a DeLorean time machine. Which historic period/time/moment would you like to visit?
I’m not very creative. I’d probably go back to the 80s and buy up all that stuff I don’t have anymore. Cereal, mostly.
