Who is and where does Jeffro come from?
I was born and raised in a small Philadelphia neighbourhood called Fishtown (where I still spend most of my time). I am a Philly art teacher, a co-founder of the Philadelphia Cartoonist Society, and a proud member of Phantom Hand and the Meathaus Comics Collective.
How long have you been in the t-shirt world?
I’ve been designing shirts since high school, but I’ve only been doing pop culture shirts for about 2 years.
What would you suggest to an aspiring t-shirt designer?
Draw and design things you like, things that resonate with you in some way. I’ve tried to do things with only money in mind, and every time those projects have flopped. When I draw and design things I have fun doing, I’ve had my best success.
What’s a day in the life of Jeffro like?
I teach full-time in a city middle school, then come home to either my Kensington studio or my family.
Mac or PC?
