Tell us something about this design.
This design was inspired by one of my all time favourite films Back To The Future. It’s a very basic and simple design of the Time Circuits.
Who is and where does Smythy come from?
My name is Ian Smyth and I’m fom Dublin, Ireland.
How long have you been in the t-shirt world?
I only started designing t-shirts about a year ago. I am still a complete beginner and a lot of my work is very basic or text based designs.
What would you suggest to an aspiring t-shirt designer?
In many ways i am still an aspiring designer myself. My work isn’t briliant but I like what I do. If I had to suggest anything it would be to take your time. Don’t rush a design just to get it online. Make sure its well executed. There is nothing better than seeing your design up for sale.
What’s a day in the life of Smythy like?
Well I lost my job and am starting college in September so at the minute an average day for me is waking up early because I have a 2 year old son. Continue to check emails and social networking sites on and off all day! Try to come up with some popular t-shirt designs which isn’t easy then rest of the day playing with my son.
Mac or PC?
I’ve had both and I currently use a PC but I guess it is all down to preference and what you use it for. Macs are great for design programs but can’t handle games. Pc are brilliant machines for gaming and you can probably custom build a gaming pc for cheaper than what you’d get a Mac for.

You ve just won a DeLorean time machine. Which historic period/time/moment would you like to visit?
I wasn’t old enough to go see Back To The Future in cinema when it was released so I’d like to go back and experience that. Small dream but a good one.
