Tell us something about this design.
I always wanted to create a design related to this specific Batman: The Dark Knight wallpaper and it took me a while to come up with a suitable crossover, but here it is.
Who is and where does Rookié come from?
My name is André and I’m a 22-year-old design student from Leverkusen, Germany. Since I was able to hold a pen I’ve been obsessed with drawing. When I turned 16, photography and Photoshop joined ranks.Besides university I work as a freelance Illustrator, graphic designer and photographer.
How long have you been in the t-shirt world?
I discovered my love for the t-shirt world a year ago I think, when my cousin introduced me to daily tee sites universe. I fell in love real quick but I just created 2-3 designs in the first 6 months, I had to practice a lot and learned from the response I got for my work.
What would you suggest to an aspiring t-shirt designer?
Always survey designs that you like and figure out what you like about them. And what’s more: never give up even after you suffer some setbacks.
What’s a day in the life of Rookié like?
The alarm clock rings at 9:30, but I need some time to get up. When I succeed I eat some cereals and then get ready for university. At about 18:00 I’m back home and watch several episodes of some tv series. I’m a night owl, so I start designing at around 21:00 and work until 1:00 at the earliest. In the case of this design I couldn’t stop until I finished it at 5:30 in the morning.. yeah, it was a short night.When I’ve got some more free time and the sun is shining I spend the time outside with some friends, go longboarding or make music.
Mac or PC?
In university I am forced to use Mac which is no problem to me, but at home I work with PC and I think I will keep it that way ;)

You are the governor of the world. What’s the first thing you would do?
I would arrange that everyone, everywhere got enough to drink, to eat and a place to call home.
You’ve just won a DeLorean time machine. Which historic period/time/moment would you like to visit?
We know quiet much about the past, but nothing about the future. That’s why I would travel into the year 2213 to see what’s it like 200 years from now (please let there be hoverboards).
